From the arc of the light in the water, Larceny could tell that the sun was rising. Which meant that it was time for her to head back up to the boat. She needed the time to dry off and reform her legs before Duke woke up and spotted her. Swimming back to the harbor, she grabbed the anchor lines and started pulling herself upwards. With her strength, it was only a few minutes of hand-over-hand before she was peeking over the edge of the boat.
Good. Still empty.
With a mighty flip, she hauled herself over the edge, landing on the deck. Her tail flicked water over the wood, reaching for the towel she'd stashed to start the long process of drying herself off.
Mermaid in the Sunrise on a Boat.
[For one! NFB, please. Squirrels, shoo]
